May the better...horse win

All I want to say is that Agro was worlds more loyal than Epona. If you want a detailed account of why, I'll PM you (as long as you ask) Because I do not want to give out spoilers for SotC unless you are prepared for them.
Non-spoiler facts:
Agro come when you whistle or call his name, Epona only come when you play a song.
Agro follows you anyway, Epona just sits there
Agro has a personality and is a separate entity to Wander, i.e. He has autopilot, he runs when he is attacked (useful in a fight when you are in the middle of mounting him and the boss tries to take a shot at you, saved me more times than I can count) Epona is like a motorcycle, not a personality.
Agro actually fights Bosses with you, Epona helps you fight the Goblin dude, but he is only twice your size, as opposed to thirty (on a good day, that is, a mid-sized boss)
Agro looks cooler (don't deny it!)
Epona is, granted, faster
Agro is a freaking midevil (spelled wrong, get over it) charger bigger than you are, as opposed to some sissy racing horse that Epona was until Twilight princess
Agro actually looks like a horse (once again TLoZ TP excluded)

I out the other two for varieties sake, I needed to make it look like I put in some effort.
Anyway, If you know me (and have listened to me go on about Shadow of the Colossus) you already know my choice: Agro. Without this horse, all you have is a necrophiliac with a glowy sword . And it would take forever to get from the Shrine of Worship to anyplace on the map without your not-so-little buddy, and he has autopilot, I mean come on, how can you beat that? Sure Epona is nice, but all she can do is run forward and jump, I don't have time to keep track of where the wall is while I am shooting the FIVE HUNDRED FOOT GIANT STONE SNAKE OUT FOR MY BLOOD MERE FEET BEHIND ME. Epona would get both of our butts killed in no time, Agro will do a radical thing, run, when it is barreling towards me with enough force to level a house, and at least starts to turn after you shoot it in the eye and it is thrashing underground on its destructive way to the wall, oh, BTW, you are in the way. Fun on a blind horse, such as Epona, don't you think?
